Is There a Mod to Continue New Vegas After Beating It
DLC do not let you play after the ending.
The FPGE mod allows you to play after the ending, which requires DLC.
No DLC will let you keep playing New Vegas after beating the game. You need mods to keep playing after the game ends.
what DLC
All DLC is essential.
do i need the DLC to continue playing the game after finishing the last quest?
DLC only add 20 levels in total. They are totally seperate in seperate areas of the game. There is no Broken Steel type dlc like in F3 which let you continue playing after ending the game
The only way to continue is using the FPGE or FPGEL mods. Do NOT use CAGE or any older mods.
The nice thing is that Obsidian originally intended to have postgame content and world changes, so most of what FPGE does is either cut vanilla content or informed by said content.
What you need to do after beating the game is to go beat it again. But in a different way. Things change depending on how you want to beat it.

Agreed.
Although it *is* fun to explore the Wasteland after beating the game - FPGE has a lot of reactivity, so you will see changes based on your path through the game. And again, a lot of it is actually cut content that was created before Obsidian ran out of time to add a post-game.
There is a mod called cage that can continue after you beat the game but no you don't need dlc o think

CAGE is obsolete and has issues.
FPGE is the current solution, as has already been covered.

I instantly lose interest in a game (any game) once I finish the MQ. But that's me. And I mean a particular playthrough, not the entire game.

No that's fair too, I was just saying it's interesting to see what you get from the ending slides in place in the actual world sometimes.

All's fair in a post-apocalyptic wasteland you're trying to rid of psychopathic cosplayers wearing football helmets and sunglasses.

Absolute truth.

Ya know, I used to like NV and 4 pretty much equally, but after my last foray into Nuka World, I'm leaning heavily into the NV fanboi camp.
